Wanda Cooper and her family of two children and 7 grandchildren, Zavien, Larry, Kairea, Tayvon, Keyrhianna, Keyshawn and Laryanna have been living in their two apartments at 151 Webster Avenue in Rochester for 5 years. However, during all this time, their complex has had massive issues with plumbing, black mold, infestations, power, and general structural maintenance during the last couple of years. Recently, these have repeatedly forced the family to fight their landlord in court. For years, Wanda has been with the Rochester City-Wide Tenant Union and has organized alongside others from the inner city, working hard to set an example for others

suffering from the effects of suburban gentrification. An important aspect of their lives that has been made more severe by their circumstances is pandemic learning for each of the grandchildren. While the parents stay home and try to make ends meet, the children spend hours at the computer, trying to learn online with differing schedules and limited resources for their education. I followed them through a day in their life, documenting what makes their family so unique, but also how they operate in such trying circumstances.
